Mrs Even has been busy this morning in the office setting up the security for our new Chromebooks.  She just loves labelling all those bags, chargers and Chromebooks to make sure they are all kept safe and sound at school. 

Chromebooks Introduced in the Senior Class

Week One of our journey and the Chromebooks are in the eager hands of the Year Six and Seven students and their teachers. The students are learning how to create documents using Google Docs and share these with their teachers.  It took the children all of five minutes to sort this out and they are now keen to complete work, send it to their teachers for editing and receive the work back edited and commented on. Added bonus - the documents emailed from the students'  school Gmail accounts can be viewed through the teacher accounts, notified to them via cathednet, and viewed from any device they are working on.  Such a user friendly and simple process!

Setting up Google Accounts on the Chromes - Day One of our Journey!

 

A very exciting day today at Sacred Heart with the setting up of our Google accounts for all the students and staff to begin using the Google Chrome computers.  We had  wonderful assistance from the IT team from the Catholic Education Office to help us get the Chromes ready for student use. This is our first small group of students entering their account details and enjoying the excitement of new devices at school.

Ipads and Apple TV technologies underway in the Science/Art Laboratory with the Senior Class.

This week we look forward to the delivery of 20 new Chrome Books.  These new devices will give our students individual use of a small notebook laptop using Google accounts to access documents and apps.  It is a very exciting time for the staff and students of our school.  Please follow our journey as we introduce this new technology into our school.
